Aphorisms of the Lake

I had to return home after almost two years of being away as another migrant in the Venezuelan diaspora. My ill mother awaits so we can embrace one last time. With my cellphone I shoot everything I see of the city where I lived my whole life -or what is left of it due to the country's crisis- but all these places are just reminiscences of a longed past. Surrounded by family, I feel like I never left. But my home is not there anymore. The images feel adrift, but I insist on finding a new firmament.
