Hawthorn

Hawthorn is a short film about a hawthorn tree in the filmmaker’s hometown in Iran, where she spent her childhood. A tree not native to the region, perhaps the only one of its kind in the entire town. Years later, she discovers the same tree growing in Montreal, Canada. The film becomes a quiet meditation on how memories take root and follow us across time and place. Sometimes in the form of a tree.
