fade / appropriate / reconstruct / loop(holes) an audiovisual approximation to memory, parting from two main ideas: appropriation and re:writing memory is dynamic, live, fallible, in change. remembering implies rewriting (transforming, erasing). using stop motion emphasizes movement. the constant image bombing we are submitted to, facilitates that the memory appropriation comes by first hand in a visual way. using archival footage makes visible this idea. archive footage: prelinger archives in association with internet.org Each time you remember something, you re:write it. As this rewriting also implies erasing, it's reflected on the drawing of each frame. Memory also implies a big part of appropriation, that's why using archival footage was so important. (how many times have we thought a memory was our own, when actually it's an image/anecdote from 'somewhere else'?) An experimental short film.
