Petrichor

Grief is universal, but each person embarks on a different internal journey to cope with the loss of this abstract concept. This journey can not be seen or heard by anyone else. But what if this were possible? My experimental film, Petrichor, inspired by Elizabeth Kübler-Ross's "5 Stages of Grief" theory, will be the sound of my journey in which I mourn my own death and announce my silent screams to everyone. For some, coming close to death once causes the concept of life to lose its meaning, while for others, every breath taken becomes more valuable. As for me, I feel undecided between wanting to live despite everything and getting rid of this world and falling into a peaceful and deep eternal sleep. In this work, where I will explain the process of accepting a person's grief from my own perspective, I aim to touch the mind and heart of the audience by concretizing this abstract process I experience with music, sound and supporting it with images. While each instrument sound expresses an emotion, other sounds used will be blended with the music to further reinforce these emotions. Each image will represent an abstract feeling and make that feeling concrete. “Petrichor” will encourage you to evaluate the stages of grief from a concrete perspective and offer an extraordinary experience. A few notes will express every emotion we feel inside for us. The music, whose rhythm and tempo changes along with the different feelings at each stage, will take the spectator on a journey of emotions. Helping the spectator connect with their own emotional experiences, empathize and explore their own world, Petrichor aims to be the "voice of feelings".
