Petrification of time
"She takes the urn from the box and starts kneading the dough with the ashes. And she covers the dough with her body. While it hardens, she spends time with someone who is dead in her own way." We don't know who she is, whose ashes she's touching, or why she misses someone so much. This film focuses only on her emotions behind it. Her gestures, the sunlight that fills the room, the air, her body shaking as she applies the dough to her body, and the time it takes for it to set-all of it engages our senses to convey what she is feeling. It is her own way of comforting someone who has lost a loved one. It's like a ritual of being together, physically and spiritually. Spiritual ritual, dance, missing the deceased, body movement.
