The House Left Empty

Two sisters say goodbye to the only house they have ever lived in. They empty it completely, paint the walls white, and with each gesture, begin to release their ties to the place. That house is a refuge, but also a burden and a weight. It is memory, but also a wound. Through dance, words, and movement, The House Left Empty is a farewell ritual to a space that became too heavy to inhabit. It is an intimate, emotional, and bodily mourning. A white chair—the last vestige of what was lived—accompanies them to a forest, where they finally say their last goodbye.
