"The Self and The Other" is an experimental film inspired by Jean-Paul Sartre’s play No Exit. Through abstract visuals, the film delves into Sartre’s theory of the Self and the Other, manipulating audience perception to construct a fluid narrative. It creates a perceptual game where the power of interpretation lies with the audience. The film features three characters—a square, a triangle, and a circle—whose sense of self is shaped by the subjectivity of the others. Their interactions depict a constant struggle between Self and Other, visualising Sartre’s idea of L'enfer, c'est les autres (Hell as Other people).
