ZeNistan: A Live Documentary Experience

As part of the 6th Istanbul International Experimental Film Festival, this special screening marks the return of the legendary psychedelic band ZeN in a unique format. Director Serdar Kökçeoğlu’s documentary-in-progress ZeNistan brings together never-before-seen archival footage with a live improvisational performance by Murat Ertel.

Having sifted through hundreds of hours of ZeN’s archives, Kökçeoğlu and screenwriter Elif Dizdaroğlu will take the stage alongside the band’s founder Murat Ertel to present this material. Inviting the Istanbul Experimental audience to become part of a live, collective documentary experience, the event merges cinema and music within a simultaneous act of creation.
